Host: Hello, Western Australia. This is The Not A Lawyer podcast, and this is the trailer. Before anything else: everything on this show is general information. It is not legal advice.
Host: I am also not a lawyer. It is the one thing we are completely sure about.
What this is
Host: Maybe it is a breach notice from the property manager. Maybe it is a roster that quietly stopped having your name on it. Maybe it is a fine for something you do not remember doing. Whatever it is, it has happened, and you want to know where you stand.
Host: Each episode will take one situation, in plain English. What it usually means. What you can do now. Who can help, for free, whether you are in Perth or a long way from it.
Why Western Australia gets its own show
Host: The show started on the other side of the country, in Queensland. And the law in WA is its own thing. Renting, work, fines, family. Different rules, different forms, different places to go.
Host: So the WA episodes are being made for Western Australia, with a lawyer who works in WA answering the questions you would ask if you could.
Until then
Host: If you need help now, Legal Aid WA has a free Infoline. The number is 1300 650 579.
Host: If you are in danger, call triple zero.
Host: The Not A Lawyer podcast, Western Australia. Coming soon.
